Entrepreneurs’ Day: Jessica Herrin
Jessica Herrin is a serial entrepreneur, author, podcast host, CEO, and mom of two. She is perhaps best known for founding the jewelry company (and women-empowering business) Stella and Dot.
Before launching a thriving career as a successful businesswoman, Herrin attended Stanford University where she received her Bachelor of Economics. After graduating, she joined the teams of two tech startups where she worked for a short amount of time before deciding to continue her education. She attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business until the age of 24 when she dropped out to co-found her first company, WeddingChannel.com.
It didn’t take long before she founded her next venture, Stella and Dot. The company sells jewelry and accessories and uses purchases of their products to support independent women in business.
Since joining the business world, Herrin has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young, and included on lists like Inc.’s Top 10 Female Entrepreneurs, Top 10 Female CEOs, and 40 Under 40. She has caught the attention of media outlets like Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. Oprah Winfrey also recognized her for her business efforts.
Herrin also tried her hand at being an author and wrote the novel Find Your Extraordinary in 2016. Today, she continues to act as CEO of Stella and Dot while championing working women around the globe.
Entrepreneurs’ Quote
“You have to see failure as the beginning and the middle, but never entertain it as an end.”
